I am 18 months old.

Some things cannot be stopped by the credit crunch.

I will prevail.

I am talking in Spanish and English.

I say “Wo-wo” for doggie.  “Si” for yes.  “No” for “no”.

I am thinking of setting up an Import/Export business.

But it’s not a good time right now…

I had a brilliant time in Devon the other weekend.  Photos coming along soon enough.

Love you my fans

I’m jive talkin’.  “Mama” meaning “mother”.  “Ma.  Ma.”  meaning “more” in Spanish (“mas”).  Normally employed when eating.  And “OooooOOOOOOooohhhhh” meaning “well isn’t that interesting”.  Normally employed when blueberries are spotted.

That’s it at the moment.  I am learning English AND Spanish after all…

My first proper, well enunciated word ushered forth this evening.

As I am Scottish, it had a certain twang to it.

So, what was it?!

It was…

(click and drag your mouse to highlight the text to reveal my first word)

“Hiya!”

:p

So! Here are the latest things I’m saying:

  • “Dadadada” (told you I was saving that one up – now I say it to everyone!)
  • “Nananana” (practising being a backing singer)
  • “Ooooooh” (I use this one whenever I see something interesting – I think it makes me look very intelligent)

And here’s what I’m being called:

  • Moochie-moos (God knows where that came from)
  • Poochie-poos (hahaha)
  • Puppy (because I’m crawling around so fast and I come when they whistle – not sure I like this one…)
  • Pumpkin

There you have it fans – letters addressed to any of the above will be directed to my pigeon-hole.

I’m saying “Mamamam” and “Bababa”.  They sound good.  I haven’t tried “Dadadada” yet – saving it up ;)

Did you know that the reason babies are called baby is because the first sounds we babies tend to make is “Baba”.  Same with “Mama” and “Papa” or “Dada”.  Makes sense really.  But it does mean that dogs should really be called “woofs”, and cats “miaows”.  And what about elephants?  “Harrrreeeeeoooooeaoghghhhh!”  Not very easy to spell…  Does make me think about oranges though.  Are they called oranges because they’re orange or is orange called orange because of oranges?  My head hurts!  Actually my teeth hurt.  *gnaw gnaw*.

My name is ever-evolving as I’ve come to expect.  I’m quite often referred to as “Poochies” these days.  The other popular one is “Genebiege”.  That one comes from cousin Amber not getting her little tongue around the full version.  Those parents seem to think it’s funny to repeat it ad nauseum.

Anyway, time for my milkies, so catch you later,

lots of love

Genebiege

Wow, I’ve just discovered that my name supposedly means ‘white wave’.  Hmmm.  Not sure that’s what Mumra and Dadrog had in mind?  Anyway, it’s suitably romantic!

More here

“Listen.  I want to run all my life, screaming at the top of my lungs.  Let all of life be an unfettered howl, like the crowd greeting the gladiator.  Don’t stop to think, don’t interrupt the scream.  Exhale, release life’s rapture.  Everything is blooming.  Everything is flying.  Everything is screaming, choking on its screams.  Laughter.  Running.  Let-down hair.  That is all there is to life.”

From ‘Gods’ by Vladimir Nabokov

“Hello, Babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies – God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
