I just can’t go fast enough! I’m running everywhere I go! Sometimes it means I fall over but… so what?! Gotta get moving, gotta get to where I’m going, you know what I mean? Can’t slow me down, no siree
‘Baby Driver’ by Simon & Garfunkel
My daddy was the family bassman
My mamma was an engineer
And I was born one dark gray morn
With music coming in my ears
In my ears
Chorus
They call me the baby driver
And once upon a pair of wheels
I hit the road and I’m gone
What’s my number?
I wonder how your engine feels
Ba ba ba ba ba
Scoot down the road
What’s my number?
I wonder how your engine feels
My daddy was a prominent frogman
My mamma was in the naval reserve
When I was young I carried a gun
But I never got the chance to serve
I did not serve
Chorus
My daddy got a big promotion
My mamma got a raise in pay
There’s no-one home, we’re all alone
Oh come to my room and play
Yes, we can play
I’m not talking about your pigtails
But I’m talking ’bout your sex appeal
I hit the road and I’m gone
What’s my number?
I wonder how your engine feels
Ba ba ba ba ba
Scoot down the road
What’s my number?
I wonder how your engine feels…
Me and mummy have been dancing to this recently…
‘Sebastian’s Summer’ by Geoffrey Burgon from the Brideshead Revisited soundtrack.
Not a lot more to say about that other than it obviously seems to bring back memories of summer holidays for my father and that I was recently exposed to it during our Christmas holiday in Tignes, when uncle Danny was completing a Brideshead session whenever the weather wasn’t up to his skills, which turned out to be more and more often throughout the course of the holiday, more’s the pity.
It’s very romantic.

Yes it’s me fans! In full technicolor!
“Different Drum” by Michael Nesmith, performed by The Lemonheads
You and I travel to the beat of a different drum
Oh can’t you tell by the way I run
Every time you make eyes at me
Woah-oh
You cry and moan and say it will work out
But honey child I’ve got my doubts
You can’t see the forest for the trees
Oh don’t get me wrong
It’s not that I knock it
It’s just that I am not in the market
For a boy who wants to love only me
Yes, and I ain’t saying you ain’t pretty
All I’m saying is I’m not ready
For any person place or thing
To try and pull the reins in on me
So good-bye I’ll be leaving
I see no sense in this crying and grieving
We’ll both live a lot longer
If you live without me
Oh don’t get me wrong
It’s not that I knock it
It’s just that I am not in the market
For a boy who wants to love only me
Yes, and I ain’t saying you ain’t pretty
All I’m saying is I’m not ready
For any person place or thing
To try and pull the reins in on me
So good-bye I’ll be leaving
I see no sense in this crying and grieving
We’ll both live a lot longer
If you live without me
For some reason beyond my comprehension I cannot insert my Musicubes here in my blog. It seems that it would be fine if I had a Blogger or Typepad blog, but WordPress is apparently useless and cannot handle the advanced nature of that which I would like to show.
Well – you can always look at my musicubes here instead…
and I hope you have fun with them!
The Honey Bee Rap
Frog’s legs
Monkey toes
Cheeky cheeks
Little nose
It’s very short but it’s all about me so I like it
Wow! I had my first mention on radio today – my uncle Iain is a DJ on Leith FM 98.8. He was *super cool* and played some great CHOOONS. I hope somebody gave him some ice-cream coz he was melting away! His show – Books Down, Volume Up – is every Sunday at 5:30 pm so tune in here and support him!
BTW Uncle Iain – Jimmy McNulty was very disappointed that you wouldn’t play any Kylie…
Uuuuuuh………………… wow!
